Hello, we are Go Paws Up

A dog is not just an animal, they are part of the family. So why should their grooming be any different to you going to the hairdresser or the spa?

Go Paws Up is run by Charlotte, a City & Guilds Level 3 qualified professional dog groomer, trained with Amy Manser at Just 4 Paws, a regular Mastergroom and Groomer of the Year winner.

We use only natural shampoos that soothe rather than irritate, paired with a hydrobath that works an oxygen-infused blend of shampoo and pure water right down to the skin. Even the thickest coats come out clean, conditioned and shining.

Airy, light and calm, the way a grooming salon should be.

A make-over

Minor matting usually brushes out. Severe matting does not, and working through it is lengthy and painful. Wellbeing comes first here, so a fresh start is sometimes the kinder option. The coat grows back quickly and your favourite style is soon possible again.

Where we groom

The salon is at Tower House Farm on Oaks Road in Whitwick, a few minutes from Coalville and easy to reach from most of north west Leicestershire.

Common questions

Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Appointments are essential and we do not currently offer a walk-in service. Call or email Charlotte and we will find a date and time that suits you.
How young can a puppy be groomed?
From their second vaccination up to four months old we offer a Puppy Pit-Stop. It is a short, gentle first visit that gets them used to the salon, the noises and the handling, so grooming is never something to worry about later on.
Which breeds can be hand stripped?
Terriers, schnauzers, setters, spaniels and any wire-coated breed, subject to the condition of the coat. We will tell you honestly at the consultation whether stripping is the right call.
My dog's coat is matted. What happens?
Minor matting usually brushes out. Severe matting does not, and working through it is lengthy, painful and stressful for the dog. Wellbeing comes first here, so a shorter make-over is often the kinder option. The coat grows back quickly and with regular grooming your favourite style is soon possible again.
What shampoo do you use?
Only natural shampoos, chosen for each dog's coat. They will not damage or irritate the skin, and the oils soothe and condition, bringing out the natural shine and colour. They go on through a hydrobath, which works an oxygen-infused blend of shampoo and pure water right down to the skin.
How often should my dog be groomed?
It depends on the coat. Most dogs that need clipping or stripping do well on a six to eight week cycle. We will talk through what suits yours at the consultation and you can book ahead if that helps.
